Triple A’s (AAA) are when we are given a text by Mr. Aguirre and have a seminar on it. We have to find a sentence in the text that we feel is the thesis statement. Then we have to write three arguments about why we think that is the thesis and then support our arguments with evidence from the text. We also have to find five vocabulary words and define them. Then lastly for a AAA we have to write a short reflection at the bottom of it.
I found AAA's very helpful because when we had essays I found it easier to get information from the text and make up my own opinion of the topic. Also being able to back up what I am stating. The triple AAA's also make it easier to study the text more and gain a better understanding of what we are trying to comprehend, or as Mr. Aguirre would say "Study the text like a love letter." So what I learned from triple A's I believe is how to analyze a text more thoroughly.

Triple A #2
Identity Fraud
Miya Black
Thesis:
I believe that the thesis was on lines forty six through forty eight stating “In a reality-based world, people bringing wild claims of widespread lawbreaking should carry the burden of proof.”
Three Points of Argument:
The first piece of evidence that I found was on line 11-14 saying “When Mr. Stephanopoulos pressed him for even a single example of fraud, Mr. Miller responded: “George, go to New Hampshire. Talk to anybody who has worked in politics there for a long time.” Mr. Miller wanted George to go to New Hampshire because he didn’t have any evidence or proof. Just like the thesis is saying people bringing in claims from all over should at least have proof to show and prove that those things are happening.
My second piece of evidence was on line twenty three stating “It’s shameful to spread these fantasies.” They are saying these are fantasies because there is no proof to show that this is even happening or going on anywhere. What I get from this is it could be called a fantasy but I also just see these so called “fantasies” as just opinions, there is no facts or proof to prove anything.
The last piece of evidence is on line twenty three through twenty four saying “Even New Hampshire’s governor, Chris Sununu, who shortly before the election floated his own evidence-free claim about buses of illegal Democratic voters, has backed off.” This is saying that the governor of New Hampshire who made the claim did it without evidence and he ends up not fighting about this anymore. What I get out of this is that maybe he stopped fighting this position because there is no proof to show that this is even a real thing going on...
Do you agree or not? Was it a good argument?
I feel like what this was trying to argue was that this may be fake but it is affecting us as people and as a country. I don’t really agree with this that it is affecting us as people. I mean people are trying to say that there is fraud going on but there isn’t even evidence to prove it. So I do not think that it’s affecting us. The fact that people are making up these fantasies about things they have no proof for and then trying to argue for them seems to affect us because if I were to ask them where they heard that or got that information and they couldn’t tell me I know personally I wouldn't believe them or what to keep listening to them. So no I don’t feel like this is actually affecting us.
Vocab:
1.)Unnerving
Make (someone) lose courage or confidence.
2.) Administration
The process or activity of running a business
3.) Allegation
A claim or assertion that someone has done something illegal or wrong, typically one made without proof.
4.) Purge
Get rid of an unwanted feeling, memory, or condition
5.)Debunked
Expose the falseness or hollowness of a myth, idea, or belief
Reflection:
This piece of writing was hard to understand at first. I started to take words out and search there meanings and then sentences at a time and then paragraphs which really helped me to understand the text better. It made me have to take it slow and really try to understand what I was reading. I feel like this text taught me a lot of new words which is nice. Also let me know something that is going on that I hadn't known about. The seminar went really well the perspectives I feel of everyones were so diverse that the points that everyone had were so different it was cool to see because we all read the same thing and to see how different everyone could take something was cool but I feel it helped because it kept the conversation going and lead us to the door of enlightenment.

Political Spectrum: We plotted where all of the different people went on a political spectrum or scale. Then we took a test to see where we stand. We created a small prototype of the political spectrum and then made a larger one with our partners that we were assigned. Then we made our own personal ones like the one in the picture to the left.
What I learned from this is that even with our closest of friends we can stand differently on a political spectrum. Also that on such a small piece of paper it is hard to fit everything that we want to draw and plot.

Immigration Map: Kyna was my partner for this project when we had to make a large map of a assigned topic that we had picked. Kyna and my topic was "The Number Of Undocumented Immigrants In The U.S. By State." We went through only two revisions which wasn't bad. They were very easy fixes. We first had to add the state abbreviation's and undocumented immigrants specifically for that state. Then next we had to write New York's information because we had accidentally forgotten to write it on our map.
I learned that Kyna is a great partner, we worked well together:) I also learned that when you split up the work the task can get done faster. PLus not just having one perspective on a piece of work, you get two or however many people may be in your group.
